Local Knowledge Matters
Ocala National Forest Gets Vehicles Stuck — Every Day
The forest covers nearly 385,000 acres of sand pine and scrub. That’s a lot of room to get buried. Deep sugar sand swallows tires fast. Mud holes after rain can stop a built Jeep cold. Narrow trails leave no room to rock your way out.
We’re based right in Fort McCoy. We know the trails, the problem spots, and the fastest way in. When you call, we’re already close.
Reliable Towing Service After Your Vehicle Is Recovered
After your vehicle is safely recovered, it may still need towing. We can transport damaged or disabled vehicles to a repair shop. Our towing service is available throughout Ocala and Marion County. We help make the recovery process simple from start to finish.

The Trails That Catch Drivers Off Guard
These are the spots we get called to most. Know what you’re heading into — and know who to call when it
Deep Sand
Florida’s only Jeep Badge of Honor trail. 81 miles of sand, mud, and narrow side trails. Stock trucks drop in and disappear. One soft section can bury you to the axles.
Mud Holes
Looks like a maintained dirt road. Don’t be fooled. After rain, the holes fill to 2 feet deep. 4wd and high clearance are a must — and still not always enough.
Sand + Mud
White sand turns to mud near the lake. Water crossings after a rain make it a two-problem trail. A lot of drivers walk out from here and call us.
Loose Sugar Sand
The trails off us-19 past the campground look easy. The sugar sand is soft and shifty. Going in solo is a risk. There may be nobody nearby to help if you dig in.
Remote + Narrow
19 miles of ohv trail between salt springs and eureka. Sharp curves through scrub brush, loose surface. Getting stuck here means a long wait — unless you call us.
Sand + Mud Mix
Combines wet mud and dry sand in the same run. Vegetation pinches the trail tight. Side-by-sides, jeeps, and trucks all get caught here regularly.
We’ve Seen It All
Off Road Recovery: How Drivers Get Stuck Out Here
The Forest Has A Way Of Surprising Even Experienced Wheelers. Here Are The Situations We Handle Most.
Tires spin and sink fast. Four-wheel drive helps — until it doesn’t. Sand recoveries need the right gear.
Florida rains hit fast. Dry trails become wet traps. Even lifted trucks get swallowed whole.
One wrong turn in the pine scrub. No signal. No traction. Deep in and no easy way back out.
The forest has dozens of crossings. Some are deeper than they look. Underestimate one and you’re done.
Going alone is the biggest risk. No buddy to winch you. No way to know how long help will take.
Trails look different at night. Bears and rattlesnakes are active. You need fast help — not a long wait.

Before You Head Out
Tips From the Locals
The forest is amazing. It’s also unforgiving. A little prep goes a long way.
- Let someone know where you're going and when to expect you back.
- Check the weather. A quick rain turns sand trails into mud traps.
- Drop tire pressure before you hit soft sand. Pick it back up after.
- Bring a recovery strap even if you have 4WD. You'll thank yourself later.
- Cell signal is spotty deep in the forest. Download offline maps first.
- Watch for gators near any water crossing. They're fast. They're big. They're real.
- Don't wheel alone if you can help it. A second truck saves you every time.
- Save our number before you leave. Faster than searching later.
